From a young age, Karin had a dream that married business with creating better communities. For over 15 years, Karin’s life has been committed to identifying and cultivating talent globally so people can achieve their greatest potential. Despite naysayers who didn’t believe you could build a business with 100 illiterate women in rural Africa, as a Peace Corps volunteer Karin did that just, launching a business by using $100 worth of peanuts as seed capital growing from a 1 acre farm to an around the year farming operation. Time and time again, Karin has proved that people have the capacity to do so much more than one can imagine. Karin has financed enterprises and helped develop the leadership potential of entrepreneurs around the globe, designing and implementing a leadership development program at the Global Good Fund. She subsequently launched Kokoro, to work with companies across industries align their business strategy with their talent strategy. Karin’s work is rooted in effective leadership, building strong relationships and an understanding of what keeps employees motivated and engaged, principals that she’s applied globally from Africa, Asia, Europe to Latin America and the United States. As the Stevie Business Awards’ Employee of the Year and an American Express 50 under 40 Awardee, Karin understands what it takes to excel in a workplace. A systems thinker, Karin is committed to building a better ecosystem for work, serving as a workforce advisor for Circles of Support and Accountability and Fresno Pacific University’s Center for Community Transformation.
